Position the tips of both pliers on both sides of the split in the jump ring and grasp the jump ring tightly with the pliers. Move the pliers in opposite directions--one toward you and the other away from you to open the jump ring slightly.
- 2
Slide the open jump ring into the end link of the curb chain and close the jump ring by grasping it again in the same fashion with the two pliers and reversing the movement to realign the jump ring.
- 3
Cut a length of beading wire as long as you require for the jewelry piece you are making.
- 4
Slide the jump ring with the curb chain attached to it onto the beading wire.
- 5
Lay the beading wire flat on a horizontal work surface and slide the jump ring and chain along the wire to the point you wish it to connect.
- 6
Add beads to the beading wire on both sides of the jump ring. As you fill the beading wire with beads, make sure the jump ring does not move out of the spot you placed it.
- 7
Continue stringing beads to finish the jewelry piece.

How to Attach a Chain to Beading Wire
The design options in jewelry making are virtually endless, limited only by your imagination. Combine beads, baubles and charms on various stringing materials to create jewelry pieces unlike anything else. You can also combine different elements in one piece for a striking and unusual effect. For example, attach a chain to beading wire to make a necklace or bracelet with exceptional beauty and charm.
