How to Convert VGA to Firewire
Converting a Video Graphics Array (VGA) signal to Firewire is possible; however, it is not practical because the data-transfer capabilities of Firewire vastly exceed anything that a VGA signal would require. In addition, the hardware required for the signal conversion is prohibitively expensive at around $1,600, which is more than many desktop computers. On the other hand, converting a VGA signal to a standard connection such as Universal Serial Bus (USB) is both possible and practical. This task can be accomplished using a frame grabber, which is an external VGA-to-USB converter box.
