Common bar drinks are drinks bartenders make multiple times a night. From frozen margaritas to fruity cocktails, there are a number of drinks that keep getting ordered repeatedly, which is why they are considered common bar drinks. When stocking a bar, be sure to have these bar drink ingredients ready to go.
Cosmopolitan

The women in the hit TV show "Sex in the City", sip on cosmopolitans throughout the show. Make a cosmopolitan by mixing 1 1/2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of cranberry juice, 1/4 ounce of triple sec, and a splash of lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well blended, and then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lime slice and serve.
Margarita

Margaritas are served frozen or on the rocks and come several flavors. To make a basic margarita, mix 1 1/2 ounces of tequila, 1/2 ounce triple sec, and 3 ounces of sweet and sour mix to a glass filled with ice. If you want salt on the rim of the glass, rub a lime wedge along the rim of the glass and dip in salt before you pour the drink in the glass. To make this drink frozen, pour all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add flavoring and fruit to the mix to make fruity margaritas, such as strawberry, peach, mango and watermelon. For fruity margaritas, serve with a sugar rim and lime wedge.
Martini

The martini is another drink that comes in a variety of flavors. For a common classic martini, mix 1 1/2 ounces of dry gin and a splash of dry vermouth in a cocktail shaker over ice. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a pimento-stuffed olive. Some flavored martinis include chocolate, peach, apple, lemon and spicy.
Screwdriver

According to the Celebrations web site, many believe the name screwdriver was given to a drink because construction workers used to sneak vodka into their orange juices cans and stir the drink with screwdrivers. This common bar drink consist of 2 ounces of vodka and orange juice in a highball glass served over ice. Garnish with an orange slice and serve.
Gin and Tonic

To make a common gin and tonic, mix 2 ounces of gin with tonic water and pour over an ice-filled highball glass. Stir and garnish with a lemon or lime slice. In the late 1700s, people used gin and tonic for medicinal purposes to help prevent malaria, according to Celebrations.
