How Do I Repair a Moen T2605?

Repairing a Moen T2605 is a simple DIY job. The task me seem a little more complex than other faucet repairs, given the T2605 ornate design, but there is really no difference. Odds are you are noticing inconsistent water pressure or irregular temperature when you turn on your shower faucet. If this is your problem, then the cartridge within the body of the faucet needs to be replaced. Most local home-improvement stores will carry a replacement cartridge for your T2605 faucet.

Close the main shut-off valve in your house.

    • 2

Loosen the Phillips screws on both the bottom side of the handle and the decorative sleeve of your Moen T2605.

    • 3

Remove both the handle and the sleeve once the screws are loosened.

    • 4

Remove the silver retaining clip holding your defective cartridge in place with a pair of pliers. The piece should pull right out

    • 5

Remove the defective Moen cartridge with a pair of pliers by rotating it counterclockwise and pulling away from the shower unit.

    • 6

Insert the new replacement cartridge into the body of your Moen T2605. The new cartridge will go into the same spot that the old one sat in.

    • 7

Place the retaining clip back onto the cartridge.

    • 8

Set the sleeve and handle back onto the cartridge and tighten the screw on the underside of both.

    • 9

Turn on your shower and check to make sure everything is working properly.
