How to Adjust Crossover Frequency

An audio crossover is an electronic filter used for dividing the audio spectrum into separate bandwidths, enabling multiple drivers in your loudspeakers to reproduce music and sound accurately with little distortion. This improved audio fidelity is possible because each driver is responsible for reproducing a specific bandwidth in the audio spectrum for which it was exclusively designed. By using the crossover adjustment, you can more easily control the power distribution to your loudspeakers, thereby managing not only the overall volume but audio fidelity as well. This is particularly useful when setting up your subwoofer, which will program it to handle the lower end of the spectrum. And this in turn will free up extra power, which your receiver can then deliver to other speakers.
