How to Extract Microsoft Updates

Microsoft periodically releases updates for all Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products and other programs. You can easily extract Microsoft updates by using Microsoft Windows 7's built-in functionality.

  Click "Start." Type "Update" into the search box and hit "Enter." Click "Windows Update" from the results.

  Click "Check for Updates" in your left pane. Windows 7 will locate updates. You can then check the updates you wish to apply.

  Check all the updates you wish to install. Click "OK."

  Click "Install Updates." Read the Microsoft license agreement and click "Finish." Enter your administrator password if prompted. Reboot your computer and all selected updates will be applied.
