Put on long pants, a couple of long-sleeved shirts, gloves, goggles and a hat or mosquito/gnat veil on your head. Wasps are very territorial and will attack and sting anything that disturbs their nest. The extra layers of clothing will help keep you safe and protected from the wasps. For added protection, the West Virginia University Extension Service recommends applying an insect repellent to your skin or clothing as a deterrent to the stinging insects.

Find the exact location of the wasp's nest in your car. Wasps usually make their nests under the hood of cars but have also been known to make their nests inside the vehicle or in the trunk. The wasps will leave the nest at certain times of the day to forage for food and water, so watch closely for the wasp's entrance and exit from your car to discover the exact location of the nest.
- 3
Spray the nest with the commercial wasp spray. The Wisconsin Natural Resources Magazine recommends sneaking up to and spraying the nest at night when wasp activity is minimal. Stand a safe distance from the nest and spray the solution directly at the nest until it's thoroughly saturated. The toxins or chemicals found in the wasp spray are deadly to wasps and will kill them upon impact.
- 4
Remove the nest from your car. Wait about 24 hours after spraying the nest before you remove it from your car. Put on the protective clothing again before approaching the nest in case any wasps remain, and put gloves on your hands. Tear or pull the wasp nest away from your car. Place the nest in a plastic bag and either throw it away or burn it.
- 5
Clean the area where the commercial wasp spray was sprayed on your car with a damp rag. The toxic material found in these sprays can endanger your health or damage your vehicle if not removed in a timely manner.

How to Get Rid of a Wasp's Nest in My Car
Wasps are territorial insects that build nests in quiet, secluded areas. They can endanger your health if their nest is disturbed. According to the West Virginia University Extension Service, wasp stings can cause hives, swelling, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, headaches and even death if an individual is allergic to wasp stings or is stung enough times in a single incident. Use a proven brand of commercial wasp spray to permanently remove the pests and their nest from your car.
