How to Grow Alocasia Polly

An Alocasia polly, also known as African mask or elephant's ear, has thick and glossy heart-shaped leaves. The plant is grown as a houseplant due to its delicate foliage. The Alocasia polly can reach up to 2 feet tall. The low-maintenance plant thrives best in warm temperature and filtered light, as well as consistent humidity.

  Cover the bottom of a shallow tray with pebbles. Add water to keep the pebbles wet but don't add too much because you do not want the plant to be submerged. Place the Alocasia polly plant on the pebbles and keep the pebbles wet to provide humidity.

  Select an area where the Alocasia polly will receive indirect sunlight. Place the plant next to a south-facing window for best results.

  Maintain a temperature between 60 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

  Water the plant with distilled water to keep the soil moist. Tap water will cause the plant to form spots on the leaves. Mist the plant with warm water weekly to regulate the humidity.
