How to Install Hillman Hanging Flush Mounted Hooks

Hillman flush-mounted hooks allow you to hang pictures and mirrors completely flat against your wall. They are installed like any standard hook by securing them to the wall with a screw. These hooks can be installed in drywall, brick or cement. Depending on the wall type, however, certain steps need to be taken in order to ensure that the hooks are securely fastened.
  • Drywall Walls

    • 1

Place the stud finder flat against the wall.

    • 2

Press the button on the side of the stud finder and move it from left to right. When the green light lights up and the stud finder beeps, it has found a stud. Mark this location with your pencil.

    • 3

Hold the hook up to the wall where the stud is located. Drill through the holes in the hook and into the stud with a drill bit slightly smaller than the diameter of the screws used to secure the hook.

    • 4

Secure the hook to the wall using the screws that came with it.

    Brick and Cement Walls

    • 1

Place the hook on the wall where you would like to hang it.

    • 2

Drill through the holes in the hook and into the wall with the power drill and a drill bit slight larger than the diameter of the screw used to secure the hook. Set the hook the the side.

    • 3

Hammer a screw anchor into each of the holes.

    • 4

Line the holes in the hook up with the wall anchors.

    • 5

Secure the hook to the wall with the supplied screws.
