How to Play a Laptop on a TV

Laptop computers today have a wide variety of functions and applications. Such features include DVD players and presentation software. Laptop screens are generally fairly small, so the owner might wish to hook up the laptop to a larger TV monitor to display the information better. The connection can be made from the laptop to the TV using cables.

Connect the wiring. If using an S-video cable, plug one end into the "S-video" port on the laptop and the other end into the "S-video" port on the rear of the TV. If using an RCA cable, plug one end into the yellow "RCA" port on the laptop and the other end to the "RCA" port on the TV. Connect the single end of the audio cable to the "Headphone" slot on the TV and the red and white audio jacks into the red and white "RCA" port next to the connected RCA video cable.
