How to Repair a Jade Cross Pendant

A jade cross pendant is definitely a beautiful statement piece, whether you are religious or simply find it fashionable to wear. The stone's hardiness makes it perfect for everyday wear. However, if the unthinkable happens and your jade pendant breaks, you can repair the stone at home inexpensively and with ease. With a little jeweler's epoxy and drying time, your jade cross pendant will appear and function as good as new.

  Clean the two broken ends of your jade cross with a washcloth and rubbing alcohol. Allow the pendant to dry thoroughly before continuing.

  Mix the two-part jeweler's epoxy on a disposable surface. Make sure the epoxy you purchase dries clear, not amber like most epoxy cements.

  Apply a thin amount of epoxy to both broken surfaces using a toothpick.

  Press the broken pieces together, and look for any excess epoxy that might ooze from the crack. Make sure to remove any excess epoxy with your washcloth immediately.

  Place the pendant on a flat surface, and allow the epoxy to dry per manufacturer's specifications.
