How to Reset the Ink Counter on a Deskjet F4235

The Deskjet F4235 is a printer produced by Hewlett Packard. The product has an ink counter function that helps you keep track of how much ink is left in your print cartridges. If this counter suffers problems, such as not automatically detecting a new cartridge, then you may wish to reset the counter. You can do this by resetting the printer. However, HP warns that the ink counter may be unavailable or unreliable if you install a refilled or remanufactured print cartridge, or a cartridge that has been used in another product.

  Turn off the HP DeskJet F4235 printer by pressing the "Power" button on the front of the device. Wait for the machine to become quiet and the lights to go off, meaning that it has finished turning off.

  Remove the power completely by unplugging the power cord from the back of the printer or turning off the plug at the wall.

  Wait for a moment, and then reconnect the power by plugging the cord back into the printer or turning on the plug at the wall.

  Turn the printer back on by pressing the "Power" button on the front of the printer and waiting for the printer to start up.

  Make sure that the printer is supplied with paper. You will now need to run a test page to realign the new print cartridge.
