How to Reset the TCP/IP Protocol

The TCP/IP protocol is part of the networking interface of your computer. This allows your computer to use a network adapter to resolve an IP address and receive Internet access. Because this is an integrated service in the Windows operating system, you cannot uninstall and reinstall the TCP/IP protocol in your computer. However, you can use the Command Prompt to reset the TCP/IP protocol back to factory settings.
