How to Unlock an Alltel Touch Pro

The HTC Touch Pro was released in 2008 and functioned on Alltel, Sprint, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless systems. The phone is no longer sold by the four carriers. If you purchased the Touch Pro under a contract, the Touch Pro is locked to a particular carrier. The Touch Pro must be unlocked to function on another carrier network. Unlocking a Touch Pro requires the IMEI number and an unlock code. After obtaining the unlock code, you can unlock the phone manually.

  Power off your phone and remove the battery cover by pushing the back cover up with your thumb until it unfastens from your phone. Write down the 15- to 17-digit IMEI number on the white sticker in the battery carriage.

  Remove the Alltel SIM card located on the right-hand side, above the battery.

  Contact Alltel and supply your IMEI number to obtain an unlock code. Alltel is not obligated to provide unlock codes; therefore, you may have to purchase a code from an online vendor such as Mobile Unlock Solutions, GSM Liberty, or The Travel Insider. You will need your IMEI number to purchase a code online. The IMEI number identifies your phone type.

  Insert a SIM card from another carrier. Do not use the Alltel SIM card.

  Enter your SIM card PIN if prompted to enter a PIN code. Press OK.

  Enter the unlock code when prompted.
