How to Use a KitchenAid Meat Grinder

The KitchenAid meat grinder grinds a wide variety of foods including meats, bread, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. This hard plastic attachment consists of a hopper with both coarse and fine grinding blades. The KitchenAid meat grinder attachment also includes a food pusher and wrench to help push the food through the hopper. Use your KitchenAid meat grinder to prepare your own ground meats, make your own bread crumbs or process other foods for all your recipes.
    • 1

Twist off the plastic piece on the front of the grinder that holds the blade.

    • 2

Place the preferred blade --- coarse or fine --- in position and twist back on the plastic piece.

    • 3

Push the meat grinder onto the front of your KitchenAid stand mixer. The hopper should suspend above the mixer with the grinder part level with the mixer.

Cut food into small pieces. If grinding meat, cut meat into long, narrow strips.

    • 5

Place a bowl or other container underneath the hopper to catch ground food.

    • 6

Turn the mixer to "Speed 4."

    • 7

Place food in the hopper and push it through using the provided food pusher or wrench.
