HP 2430 Specifications

• Laser printers are often used in the workplace because of their fast printing speeds and high-volume paper capacities. The LaserJet 2430 from Hewlett-Packard is a laser printer with strong paper-handling and network capabilities that is best suited for medium-sized work groups or small offices.

Print Speed

• The HP 2430 has a 400 MHz processor and can print at speeds up to 35 pages per minute (ppm). When printing in black, the first page of a document prints in less than 10 seconds.

Print Quality

• Using HP ProRes 1200 Resolution Enhancement technology (REt), the HP 2430 can print up to 1200 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi).

Print Languages

• Printer Command Language (PCL) is a page description language developed by HP to be used with its printers. The HP 2430 is compatible with HP PCL 6, HP PCL 5e and HP Postscript Level 3 emulation. It also supports direct PDF printing version 1.3 as long as there is at least 128 MB of printer memory.

Paper Handling

• The HP 2430 has a maximum input capacity of 850 sheets and a maximum output capacity of 250 sheets. Up to three printer trays can be installed, and the printer supports a wide range of media types, including transparencies, labels, envelopes, cardstock and most types of paper.

Connectivity

• Standard ports on the HP 2430 include one IEEE 1284-B compliant parallel port, one Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port and one EIO slot.
