The HP Compaq 6510B is a notebook PC that was introduced in 2007. It has many advanced features not usually available in base HP models. The 6510 is one of many laptops in the long line of Hewlett-Packard. The company acquired Compaq in 2001 and has continued to produce Compaq models under its name since the acquisition.

The 6510B featured a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 processor with 4MB L2 cache. The standard RAM on the laptop is 4 GB, which is the maximum amount of RAM that can be installed in the system. Programs will run efficiently and rarely freeze with this much RAM. Another benefit of 4MB of RAM is that it enables you to install and operate 64-bit Windows 7 in the event you wish to upgrade this laptop from its installed Windows Vista operating system. The video card is an Intel GMA X3100, which is a basic type of card designed for everyday use and graphics processing. The laptop featured a 160 GB hard drive, which is typically a large enough drive for the average home user. The laptop included a 12.7 mm optical DVD drive that is capable of reading and writing DVD and CDs at 8X speeds. To connect to a wireless network via a router or WiFi connection, an 802.11b/g WLAN network card is built-in to the laptop. A fingerprint reader is also another feature installed to add log-in security to your Windows account.
