Network Type
-
An individual's network will be listed at the top of the ID card. In-network providers have a lower copay and coinsurance than out-of-network providers; consult a network's list to verify whether a provider is included. CIGNA offers several networks that give discounts when an individual visits a preferred provider. It also offers a Network Savings Program, indicated by a logo at the bottom of the card, that provides discounts on out-of-network services.
Copayment Amounts
-
The amount due at the time of service, the medical copayment, is commonly listed on the right side of the card. Copays are due at the visit, although coinsurance amounts are billed separately. For some plans, coinsurance amounts are taken out of an individual's health fund, if it still carries a balance.
Individual Account Information
-
Subscriber details are on the left-hand side of the card and include name, account number and group number, if an employer or other group pays for the insurance. For answers to questions, call the customer service number on the back of the card and provide the account numbers.
