Safety Equipment in the Workplace

Safety in the workplace should be the highest priority the minds of all employees and employers. Several different types of equipment can be used to ensure the safety of everyone in all workplaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment

    • There are different types of personal protective equipment, each of which covers and protects different parts of the body for different job-related duties. Personal protective equipment items include goggles, hard hats, face masks, robes, aprons and ear plugs.

    Lock Out-Tag Out Tags

    • When working with heavy or dangerous machinery it is important that when leaving the machine, to lock it out with a tag to let others know the situation. Some instances may include putting a Lock Out-Tag on the "on" switch of a machine you on which you are working on so no one turns it on while your hands are in the machine.

    Signage

    • When thinking of safety equipment, another thing that may come to mind is a sign. Different signs can be used to warn others about a dangerous situation, wet floor or where an exit is in case of an emergency.
