Specs for an HP Compaq NC6000

    • The HP Compaq NC6000 is a notebook laptop produced by Hewlett Packard and first released in 2005. The product also uses the Compaq branding because HP acquired Compaq in 2002. This device was marketed for business use, and it includes the Windows XP operating system. Notebooks are favored for business use because they are small enough to be portable, but are still powerful enough to cope with large spreadsheets and databases.

    System

    • The HP Compaq NC6000 uses an Intel Pentium M processor with a speed of between 1.6 and 2.0 gigahertz, depending on the configuration chosen by the customer. Intel designed the M series chips to be a low-voltage solution, good for use in laptops because they extend battery life. The NC6000 comes with either 256 or 512 megabytes of DDR SDRAM, although a maximum of two gigabytes can be supported.

    Dimensions

    • The NC6000 has a 14.1-inch screen with a resolution of either 1,400-by-1,050 or 1024-by-768 pixels, depending on the options specified by the customer. It measures 10.3 inches wide, 12.5 inches deep, and 1.3 inches high. The notebook weighs 5.5 pounds with an optical drive included, or 5 pounds without this additional drive.

    Ports

    • The NC6000 has a power connector, serial, parallel, S-video, VGA, RJ-45, and two USB 2.0 ports. The device also features wireless LAN and Bluetooth connectivity. A gigabit Ethernet NIC (network interface card) is installed to handle connecting to networks.

    Battery

    • The NC6000 comes with a six-cell lithium-ion battery as standard. This has a capacity of 48 watt-hours and weighs 0.75 pounds. This can be replaced by a high-capacity eight-cell battery, which has a capacity of 63 watt-hours and weighs 0.94 pounds. There is also another eight-cell replacement battery available with a capacity of 53 watt-hours and a weight of 0.86 pounds.
