How to Add Winks & Emoticons to Mesenger Live

When you chat to someone using Windows Live Messenger you may want to spice up your conversation. One way to do this is to use winks or emoticons to express your emotions or be playful. With Windows Live Messenger you can easily insert a selection of emoticons, and if you aren't happy with the standard selection then you can click to download more emoticons.

  Click "Start," type "live messenger" and press "Enter" to launch the program.

  Sign in using your Live username and password.

  Double-click a contact to launch a conversation.

  Click the "Send an emoticon or a wink" icon (a happy smiley face) to bring up the selection of available emoticons.
