Cleaning Up Spills
- 1
Wipe the area of spill with a damp mop. Do not scrub the spill area, but wipe the surface with the mop, rinse the mop and wipe again. Use lukewarm water for the best results.
- 2
Spray the area with Tarkett Sure Shine cleaner or, dampen a clean cloth with the cleaner. Place it over the mop head and wipe the floor to complete cleaning the area. This method works best on recent liquid spills such as soft drinks, syrup, wine, milk, juice, coffee, cream, tea, beer or grape juice but can also be effective for cleaning chocolate and fruit spills.
- 3
Dampen a cloth with nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid and wipe the area clean to remove more difficult stains or spills such as may come from ink, lipstick, tar, oil-based paints, wax, scuff marks, glue or other materials that have a chemical base. Allow any residue from the remover to evaporate before cleaning the area with a damp mop.
- 4
Allow the area to dry completely before replacing any heavy furniture or area rugs that may have been removed to access the area with the spill.
Every Day Care
- 1
Move any heavy furniture, area or remove rugs off the area of the floor to be cleaned. (Roll the rugs or pick them up off the floor to remove them; do not drag the rugs as the rubber backing on the rugs can leave marks or stains on the laminate.)
- 2
Clean any dust or debris off the floor using a vacuum or broom. Make sure that you use the correct floor setting on the vacuum (carpet or hardwood/laminate floor) or it will not be close enough to the floor to be effective.
- 3
Wipe the floor with a damp mop. It is not necessary to always use a cleaner on the floor. Lukewarm water is sufficient for regular cleaning with diluted cleaners used for monthly or seasonal cleaning jobs. Allow the floor to dry completely before replacing the rugs and furniture.
