When you play audio and video files on your Windows Media Player software, the application will save the file history in the recently played media list. While this can be beneficial to quickly replay something, the media will fail to play if you no longer have the files or if they have been moved. In addition, you may wish to remove the history for privacy reasons. You can remove the media player history in the Media Player Privacy Options.
- 1
Open Windows Media Player. Press the "Alt" and "T" keys simultaneously. This brings up a "Tools" menu.
- 2
Click "Options." This displays an "Options" dialog box. Click the "Privacy" tab.
- 3
Click the "Clear History" button at the bottom. Restart Windows Media Player.
