How to Upgrade a Dell Latitude With an Intel 400Mhz Pentium II

If you own a Dell Latitude laptop with a Intel 400Mhz Pentium II processor, you can upgrade performance by upgrading your RAM. RAM stands for Random Access Memory and is what your computer uses to run multiple programs at once. Upgrading RAM will improve the multitasking capability of your Dell Latitude. You can purchase higher capacity RAM at any computer electronics store. Upgrading the RAM will take about 15 minutes.

      Turn off the Dell Latitude and remove the power cable.

      Turn over your notebook and find the RAM chamber. It will be labeled.

      Remove the RAM chamber lid by removing the screw that secures it.

      Tilt the RAM slots upward at a 45 degree angle.

      Press in on the ejector clips on both sides of the RAM slot and remove the old RAM cards.

      Slide the new RAM cards into the slots.

      Replace the lid on the RAM chamber.
