How to Connect EZ Switch

Connecting an SMC "EZ" series switch is simple; hence the name. Most switches are naturally unmanageable, so they automatically configure themselves to work with the network they're connected to. You'll need Ethernet cables to connect it properly. Switches are useful for their ability to expand devices connected to a network while simultaneously controlling the flow of network traffic. This reduces the amount of redundant information on your internal network and preserves your bandwidth.

  Plug the AC adapter into a wall socket and into the switch. If your switch has a power button, turn it on, otherwise it should do so automatically.

  Connect an Ethernet cable into the switch and the other end into your router (or another switch).

  Connect any devices you want to operate through the switch using Ethernet cables.
