How to Donate to Catholic Charities

For more than 100 years, the national Catholic Charities organization has governed and supported a nationwide network of local Catholic organizations dedicated to helping those in need. Each local organization offers different services including adoption counseling, soup kitchens, housing assistance and elderly outreach. Private donations allow these agencies to continue providing compassionate and quality care to those less fortunate.

Locate the Catholic Charity you want to receive your donation. Go to the national Catholic Charities organization website, and click on "About," located in the upper left-hand corner. Select "Local Agency Directory" from the drop-down menu, and choose a state or territory. A list will appear of the local Catholic Charities in that particular state. Click on the one you want, and follow the link to the individual organization's home webpage.

Enter your payment and contact information in the space provided. If you choose an automated donation plan, your credit card or bank account will automatically deduct that amount on the first of each month. If your donation involves stock options or assets, you will need to enter your contact information and meet privately with a member of the development staff to discuss your gift. Most Catholic Charity organizations offer pick-up services for large item donations once you provide your contact information and address.
