Open the hood.

Loosen the Phillips-head screw holding the parking lamp assembly. It will be located inside the hood either to the right or left of the parking light, depending on which side you need to access. Set the screw aside.

Grasp the parking light assembly and pull it straight away from the body. Pull gently but firmly, taking care not to damage the parking lamp wire. When the entire unit is free, you will see the wire and bulb socket.

Twist the lamp socket 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and remove the bulb from the parking lamp housing.

Pull the old bulb straight out of the lamp socket.

Like any vehicle, the Toyota 4Runner requires regular maintenance and repair to all of its components, including its parking lamps. If a lamp has burned out, remove and replace it as soon as you can. It's an easy job that requires only one tool.
