My Dell Inspiron 5150 Won't Power On

There can be a variety of reasons that your Dell Inspiron 515 will no longer power on. If your computer exhibited other symptoms of improper operation prior to it not powering on, these may be helpful in determining the cause of the problem. There are several simple things to check for before you need to take your computer to a repair technician.

  Check that the power cord is securely plugged into the wall as well as the back of the computer.

  Ensure that the keyboard is properly connected to the back of the computer if the power button you are using is located on the keyboard.

  Check any surge protectors for a reset switch. Often, a surge will trip the protection measures and requires resetting. If there is no reset switch, lug a working appliance into the surge protector to check for power in the outlets.
