The T2742 is a desktop computer system produced by California-based eMachines. This company makes basic computer systems and delivers them at a budget price by outsourcing production to Taiwan. The company has been a subsidy of Acer since 2007. The T2742 delivers a complete system (including monitor, etc.) with basic specs suitable for simple home use, but not more demanding tasks, like 3D gaming.
System
-
The T2742 uses an Intel Celeron processor with a speed of 2.7 gigahertz. The system includes 256 megabytes (MB) of DDR3 SDRAM as standard. The device comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home pre-installed.
Storage
-
The T2742 has 40 gigabytes (GB) of internal storage space on a single hard drive. This doesn't leave a large amount of space for high-volume files, such as music and video, once the necessary operating system and program files are accounted for.
Graphics
-
The T2742 uses integrated graphics included on its motherboard. This uses an Intel 845GV video chip. There is no AGP (accelerated graphics port) for adding a dedicated graphics card, meaning that there is no way to upgrade this system so that it is capable of playing modern computer games.
Additional Drives
-
The T2742 also features a rewritable CD drive.
