1991 Buick Regal Cylinder Head Torque Specifications

The 1991 Buick Regal is a four-door sedan available in six versions. Since the engines are different for some of the models, cylinder head torque specifications vary between them.
  • Definition

    • The torque measurement exists to provide information on how well a car accelerates and tows. Torque can be expressed in foot-pounds, or ft-lb.

    Torque

    • The Gran Sport coupe and sedan models produce 225 ft-lb of torque. The other models generate 185 ft-lb of torque.

    Power

    • To generate torque, the Regal relies largely on its engine. The Gran Sport sedan and coupe both have a 3.8-liter, V-6 engine with 170 horsepower. The Custom and Limited coupes and sedans have a 3.1-liter, V-6 engine with 140 horsepower. All versions have a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission.

    Statistics

    • The Gran Sport versions have a compression ratio of 9.0 to 1, while the other models have a compression ratio of 8.9 to 1. Displacement is 3,800 cc for the Gran Sport models and 3,137 cc for the other models.
