  • List of Microsoft Accounting Programs for Networking

    • Microsoft Office offers intuitive and easy-to-use professional accounting software designed to help make accounting tasks more efficient. Microsoft Accounting programs for networking are adaptable to large and small businesses. Setting up a network is as easy as following the on-screen prompts and adding client (user) accounts. Most accounting software packages contain basic financial modules, and upgrades are available.

    Microsoft Office Accounting Professional 2008

    • Use Microsoft Office Accounting Professional 2008 on a company network for access by multiple users or use on multiple computers. Microsoft suggests that you set up Office Accounting for multiple users on a network by installing the software on a main server computer, then installing the software on each user's computer as well.

Set up user accounts for each client computer so that users can access accounting documents stored on the server. Each user must also have his account and password stored on the server. Only system administrators should have the ability to change passwords or access limits on the system server. Set up Office Accounting for multiple user access on the system server computer and then add the users.

    Microsoft Office Accounting Express 2009

    • Businesses that already have a network set up for multiple client computers using Microsoft Windows workgroup can configure Microsoft Accounting Express 2009 so that the accounting software and documents can be accessed by multiple client computers. According to Microsoft, you assign each user different levels of access to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive financial information. Add the user accounts for each client computer using a different password for each user.

If your company is set up as a Windows domain, client computers are automatically able to access the server data. Create a shared document folder on the server; this is the folder where users access data using their password.

    Microsoft Dynamics SL

    • Use Microsoft Dynamics SL, a financial management suite of software programs, on a business network or Windows workgroup. According to Microsoft, client computers can be granted access to one or more programs on the company server. Among the software programs available for use in Microsoft Dynamics SL are accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll software, cash manager to manage bank accounts and cash assets, general ledger and financial statement programs.

Microsoft Dynamics SL provides a business with the power to automate projects across a company network among business divisions and even among locations around the world. Install the software on the company server and install modules on client computers as needed.
