2003 Corvette Convertible Specifications

      The Chevrolet Corvette, an iconic American two-seater sports car, is designed for performance. The 2003 model year marked the Corvette's 50th anniversary. Released in 1953, the Corvette quickly became the flagship sports car in General Motors' lineup. The 2003 Corvette convertible pays tribute to the original with added amenities to bring it into the 21st century. The 2003 Corvette is a part of the fifth generation, which includes models from 1996 to 2004.

    Engine and Fuel Economy

    • The 2003 Corvette convertible is equipped with a powerful 5.7-liter, 350-horsepower V-8 engine capable of going from 0-to-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. The 2003 Corvette includes a standard four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, or an optional six-speed manual transmission. Fuel economy estimates are between 18 to 19 mpg for city driving and 25 to 28 mpg for highway driving.

    Standard and Optional Features

    • Chevrolet offered the 2003 Corvette convertible with an array of standard features and equipment such as ABS brakes, power leather seats, fog lights and dual-zone climate controls. The 2003 model year marked the introduction of the optional Magnetic Selective Ride Control feature. This designs allows the control of wheel and body motion with Magneto-Rheological fluid in the shocks and struts. This provides a smoother ride and more precise handling, especially at higher speeds.

    50th Anniversary Special Edition

    • The 50th Anniversary Special Edition Corvette was available in coupe and convertible models and featured special "Anniversary Red" exterior paint, shale interior with embroidered 50th anniversary badges on the headrests, matching exterior badges and champagne-colored wheels.

    • Other exterior paint options were Medium Spiral Gray Metallic, Torch Red, Black and Millennium Yellow. Interior colors were black, Light Oak, Torch Red and light gray.

    • Wheelbase of the 2003 Corvette convertible is 104.5 inches. The body measures 179.7 inches long, 73.6 inches wide and 47.8 inches high. Curb weight with an automatic transmission is 3,248 lb.
