The Chevrolet 2500 is the brand's entry into the three-quarter-ton pickup truck segment. The sole diesel engine offered in this heavy duty pickup truck is General Motors' 6.6 L Duramax V-8.
  • 300 Horsepower Duramax

    • Chevrolet offers a 300 hp variant of the Duramax in the 2500 line of trucks. This 6.6 L V-8 engine is a 32-valve OHV design with a 4.10-inch bore, 3.90-inch stroke and a 17.5 to 1 compression ratio. Output for this turbodiesel is 300 hp at 3,000 rpm and 520 ft-lbs. of torque at 1,600 rpm.

    360 Horsepower Duramax

    • Chevrolet offers a more powerful version of its 6.6 L diesel V-8, with its bore decreased to 4.06 inches and a lower compression ratio of 16.8 to 1. Output for this motor is 360 hp at 3,200 rpm and 650 ft-lbs. of torque at 1,600 rpm.

    • The Duramax diesel-powered Silverado 2500 four-wheel drive pickup trucks have a maximum towing capacity of 15,800 lbs. and a maximum payload capacity of 3,802 lbs.
