2.2 Cavalier Performance

The Chevrolet Cavalier is a compact car produced by General Motors from 1982 to 2005. Offered in numerous body styles, including sedan, coupe, wagon and convertible, the Cavalier offered several engine choices, including a 2.2-liter I-4 engine during its final years of production.
  • Performance

    • The 2.2-liter four cylinder engine found in the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier was the only engine available for that model year. First introduced in 2002, this Ecotec engine was paired with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. This engine is rated at 140 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 150 foot-lbs of torque at 4,000 rpm.

    Specifications

    • With a base weight of 2,617 pounds, the front-wheel-drive Chevrolet Cavalier was available in three trim levels--base, LS and LS Sport. Upper trim levels included such safety features as anti-lock brakes. A sports suspension was also extra.

    Fuel Economy

    • The 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier is EPA rated at 21 mpg city, 31 mpg highway. This model runs on regular gasoline.
