Dealerships for car companies often receive different ratings from the manufacturer, so that customers know the dealership's quality and salesman at the dealership have something to work towards. For the Chrysler motor company, which owns Dodge, the top designation is to be a five-star dealership. This status requires certain standards be met with each customer on many different fronts before the dealership qualifies for this honor.

    Trained Personnel

    • All personnel who work at the five-star Dodge dealership must be trained in a certain way. Each salesman should be intelligent and knowledgeable about the Dodge cars she is selling and thorough in her explanations. Service technicians must be up to speed on all of the latest diagnostic and repair procedures. Parts personnel must know what parts are needed and turn it around in the most time efficient manner possible.

    Customer Satisfaction

    • Much of the five-star Dodge dealership rating is based upon surveys which are returned by customers after they buy a car from the dealership. Customers will be contacted within seven days of purchasing an automobile from the Dodge dealership and they will have the opportunity to answer a number of questions and speak their mind about their sales experience. If satisfaction is not a constant result of these surveys from the customers then the Dodge dealership will not be given a five-star rating.

    Dealership Facility Layout

    • The dealership must physically look a certain way and provide amenities for prospective customers. There should be ample parking for customers who are shopping for cars on the lot. The showroom and the waiting areas must be kept clean. The showroom must be free of dirt or debris. The dealership must work to keep their five-star rating as the Chrysler Motor Company regularly monitors dealerships.
