  • World Awareness Children's Museum

    • Located in Glens Falls, New York, the World Awareness Children's Museum was established in 1995 as a place to educate children as well as adults about different cultures. The museum features exhibitions of international children's art as well as artifacts and hands-on exhibits such as dolls, instruments and carvings from across the globe. The museum is open from 10am to 2pm weekdays.

    Visit Niagara Falls

    • Niagara Falls on the border of New York and Canada. A destination that attracts millions of visitors each year, Niagara Falls State Park offers travelers scenic trolley rides, boat journeys, hiking, fishing and biking activities. As of November, 2010, car entrance fees are $10 during May to October.

    Seneca Park Zoo

    • Visit Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester to get up close with mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Guests have the opportunity to see African elephants, cougars and rattlesnakes in this zoo that was first opened to the public in the late 1800s. As of 2010, adult entry prices are $9 from April through October and children are $6. All other times, adult tickets are $7 and children pay $4. The zoo is situated on 15 acres within Seneca Park and is open all year long.

    Skiing at Gore Mountain

    • Go mountain biking, take a scenic sky ride or take up skiing or snowboarding at this northern New York state mountain. Gore Mountain is located in North Creek and caters to the whole family, with dining, shopping and even daycare. Stay in a nearby resort or bed and breakfast, or just visit for the day.
