Alternative Phones

  • Nokia N95

    • According to the Tech Radar website, the Nokia N95 is one of the best alternatives to the top-of-the line cell phones. It is a Symbian S60-powered Smart Phone that has 3G, Wi-Fi capabilities, and has super-fast connection speeds for Web browsing and downloading. It also has a 5-megapixel camera, shooting video at 30 frames per second. It also has a multi-format music player and a GPS receiver, allowing you to navigate with the phone as well as use it for calling and entertainment purposes. While it doesn't have the illustrious touch-screen technology, it seems to have everything else.

    HTC Touch

    • The HTC Touch is one of the alternative touch-screen model phones that is not an iPhone. While it uses a Windows operating system, as opposed to the iPhone's Macintosh OSX operating system, it has its own way of navigating. It has WiFi and 3G capabilities and Windows desktop-style applications, which makes the phone feel more like a miniature pocket computer than a mobile device. While this phone lacks the power of some of the most popular cellular phones on the market, it has all the "bells and whistles," enabling a competent user to send emails, texts and phone calls in a timely and efficient manner.

    Motorola MOTORIZR Z8

    • Sounding more like a car then a mobile phone, the Motorola MOTORIZR Z8 is a uniquely styled phone that literally hooks around your face, according to Tech Radar. It has 3G for high-speed data downloads and is a sophisticated Smartphone that uses a Symbian UIQ operating system. It has video recording, playback, MP3-playing capabilities, and a micro SD card with up to 4 gigabytes of memory. There is also a 2-megapixel camera, which takes relatively good pictures for a cellular phone.
