AMG Wheel Specs

• AMG is the performance division of Mercedes, much as the M division is to BMW. Increasing the performance of a vehicle's engine and suspension means nothing if it cannot transfer that power to the road, meaning that an AMG vehicle must use special wheels as well.

Wheel Size

• The AMG vehicle uses 19-inch wheels on both the front and rear tires. Increasing the diameter of the wheel increases the contact patch with the ground, providing for better traction and grip.

Wheel Type

• The AMG vehicle uses forged light-alloy wheels. This allows a reduction in the overall weight of the vehicle, allowing for more responsive handling and better performance, contrasted with aluminum or other substance wheels seen in non-performance versions of the car.

Wheel Specs

• The specifications for the front wheels of the AMG sedan are 255/35 R19. The specifications for the rear wheels of the AMG sedan are 285/30 R19. Note that the tires are slightly larger in the rear as this is a rear-wheel drive vehicle.
