Arkansas Mold Law Certification

Mold is a worry of any building owner, and a specialist is often brought in to check for growths and let an owner know of infestations. In Arkansas, mold inspectors must be specially licensed by the state to perform this service.
  • Mold Investigator

    • The Arkansas Mold Investigator Law defines a mold investigator as someone who is paid to examine buildings for the presence of mold. The law prevents anyone who is not licensed by the Arkansas State Plant Board from performing this action.

    License

    • Getting licensed requires one of the following: acquiring certification as a industrial hygienist from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, being certified as a microbial consultant or an indoor environmental consultant by the American Indoor Air Quality council or acquiring at least 20 semester hours of college microbiology credits.

    Revoked

    • The license can be revoked for many reasons: false certification, voided certification, not paying application fees on time, and falsifying lab information in a mold investigation as well as anything else the Arkansas State Plant Board staff deems as appropriate cause for the license to be withdrawn.
