Asiana Air Boarding Rules

  • Carry On Baggage

    • On an Asiana Airlines flight, be aware of the carry-on baggage regulations. All classes can carry on two bags that are less than 22 pounds and measure a maximum width of 15.75 inches, a length of 21.7 inches and a height of 9.1 inches.

The airline reports that in addition to carry-on luggage, passengers are allowed to have one small suitcase, a laptop, a purse, books or a shopping bag. Large musical instruments such as cellos and double basses require an extra seat if you decide to not check them as baggage. Remember before the flight departs, Asiana Airlines requires passengers to store their carry-on items underneath their seat or in the overhead shelves.

    Restricted and Limited Items

    • Before boarding, passengers should ensure they are not carrying any restricted items. For flights entering or leaving the United States, lighters, matches and dry ice are prohibited, unless the passenger has prior approval. When traveling through other countries, Asiana Airlines allows passengers to carry only one of the above items.

Special Travel Needs and Unaccompanied Minors

    • Asiana requests passengers who have special needs or unaccompanied minors arrive at the airport early for boarding. Unaccompanied minors must be between the ages of 5 and 11 years old on international flights, and 5 and 10 years of age of a domestic flight. For passengers requiring special needs such as wheelchairs, be sure to visit the airport early and inform Asiana staff of any assistance needed. Special needs passengers and unaccompanied minors will board the aircraft before the general boarding call.

    Traveling With Infants

    • Asiana allows passengers traveling with infants to also board the aircraft before the general boarding call. Keep in mind that children under the age of 24 months are considered infants. On Asiana domestic flights, infants are not required to hold a ticket when boarding; however, international flights charge a 10 percent fee, based on the price of the adult ticket.

Parents may bring a stroller on board as long as it can be folded up and is smaller than 45.3 inches long. Baby seats can be brought on board as long as they hold a safety certificate by the United States or Korean manufacturers.
