Baby Girl Nursery Themes

  You decorate your home with your own personal taste in mind. Why should your baby's room be any different? Baby gear manufacturers create two or three new themes each year, and many parents decorate in that style-of-the-season. Put your own personal spin on your new baby girl's first home and turn the nursery into a fashion statement that reflects your taste.

Artist

• Design your baby girl's nursery around your favorite artist or painting. Purchase posters or prints of your favorite works and decorate the room in the same color scheme. If you love Mondrian, do the entire room in geometric lines and bright colors. Monet deserves a watery, gauzy theme and a Van Gogh nursery could be filled with sunflowers or starry designs.

Punk

• If your style is more tattoos and piercings than ruffles and frills, decorate your girl's room in a style with an edge. Paint the furniture pink with black accents. Paint skulls with pink bows around the edge of the room and frame black-and-white copies of band logos to hang on the wall.

Rainforest

• Turn your love of all things natural into a cool oasis for your new baby girl. Paint leaves and tropical flowers on the walls, or purchase a large jungle mural to use as wallpaper. Paint the furniture a cool green and add artificial greenery in the corners. Add a CD of jungle or forest sounds for a soft background.

Cupcakes

• Create a sweet retreat for your sweet baby girl. Paint the walls a soft pink and stencil cupcakes around the room. Paint the furniture white and add pink and silver knobs. Print out large photos of fanciful cupcakes from bakery websites and frame them as art.
