Battery Specifications for the 2006 Sebring Sedan

    • The Sebring is a mid-size car sold by Chrysler since 1995. The 2006 lineup included sedan and convertible models. The battery in the 2006 Sebring sedan is located behind the front fender near the driver's side tire. The Sebring uses a maintenance-free battery that should provide many years of service until it needs to be replaced. A fully-charged battery is vital to the operation of the car.

    Cold Cranking Amps (CCA)

    • According to the 2006 Chrysler Sebring factory service manual, the 2006 Sebring battery's CCA should meet or exceed 510. CCA refers to the amperage a brand-new, fully-charged battery can put out at a temperature of 0 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 seconds while maintaining at least 7.2 volts.

    Load Test

    • The load test of a 2006 Sebring battery is 260 amps. Load testing tests a battery by removing amps from a battery similar to starting up the engine. The load test number is usually half of the CCA rating.

    Reserve Capacity

    • Reserve capacity is the number of minutes a fully-charged battery can maintain a useable voltage until it falls below 25 amps. Reserve capacity is performed at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The 2006 Sebring has a reserve capacity of 110 minutes. Reserve capacity is a truer test of battery life than amp hours, which are sometimes listed.

    Type

    • The 2006 Sebring uses a sealed, maintenance-free battery which will not leak or release fumes. Maintenance-free automotive batteries cannot be serviced and will need to be replaced when they can no longer hold a charge needed to start the car.
