Roosevelt's at the Tarpon Inn

The Tarpon Inn is an upmarket hotel that has hosted presidents, royalty and celebrities in the past, and Roosevelt's is its in-house restaurant, though open to the public. Among other menu items, Roosevelt's at the Tarpon Inn offers a prime cut rib eye steak served on Savoyard potatoes with sautéed asparagus and a candied shallot demi-glace garnished with tobacco onions; as of 2010, this dish was priced at $35. For $27, you can get a 100-ounce tenderloin steak served with black forest mushroom sauce on Savoyard potatoes with a side dish of seasonal vegetables. On the weekends, a $45 "steak and lobster" meal is offered; it comes with a six ounce Brazilian lobster, a hand-cut four ounce grilled tenderloin steak with drawn butter and a red wine demi-glace served with Savoyard potatoes and Julienne vegetables.

Specializing in American, Cajun, seafood and steaks, La Barataria is a good option for budget diners, as most of its main dishes are priced between $10 and $15. Steak lovers can satiate their cravings with a filet mignon served with mixed greens, the restaurant's signature roasted potatoes, pickles, onions, tomato, grated provolone or cheddar cheese and have an option of adding Jalapeno peppers; as of 2010, this dish is priced at $9. The restaurant also offers a sirloin steak sandwich, priced at $12.
