Wireless technology has revolutionized the gaming industry in the last decade. Previously, PC gamers would have to deal with the raveling and unraveling of long joystick cords; not only was this cumbersome but it also meant you had to play your games in close proximity to the PC console. However, companies such as Logitech, Mad Catz and Saitek continue to develop powerful wireless joysticks. Not only can you forget about a tangle of wires, but you can also play your PC games up to 20 feet from the screen.
Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick
-
Logitech is considered a leading manufacturer of PC joysticks. This particular joystick comes pre-installed with a twist handle rudder, which lets you turn the controller quickly, efficiently and comfortably. The joystick is sold with a software program that allows you to customize the button configurations. This also works for multiple users. With the press of one button you can pick a specific fire trigger, then when someone else needs to play, you can quickly return it to the default settings. Logitech is also keen to point out that the controller is not only high-tech but reliable, with the 2.4 GHz wireless providing a playing range of 20 feet of range, without any interruptions. In terms of battery power, the Freedom 2.4 claims to last for 50 hours on three AA-size batteries.
Saitek X65-F Combat Control System
-
Saitek designs wireless gaming joysticks specifically for combat and flight simulators. The main selling point for this particular controller is its innovative Force Sensing technology, which is essentially an acute motion- and pressure-detecting device. According to Saitek, "The X65-F's stick does not move; instead, like those found in real modern fighter jets, it responds to pressure that you exert on the handle, resulting in a fast, accurate and realistic response."
The controller is also built for an authentic flight gaming experience -- realistic buttons and genuine trigger additions cover the metal-based joystick. For example, the stick contains three eight-way hats, one eight-way thumb hat, one trigger, two buttons and two pinkie switches. The joystick is also sold with a dual-throttle for firing the jet engines.
Other Wireless Joysticks

Although released in 2009, the Dream Stick 360 is still a must for arcade gamers, because there are simply no other authentic wireless authentic joysticks on the market. IGN reviewed it as having "authentic arcade buttons, joystick and commercial quality cabinet." An optional adapter also allows for Windows PC support.
If you are also looking for a wireless PC driving controller, look no further than the Logitech Driving Force Wireless, which offers 30 feet of play distance and an array of additional steering wheel buttons and triggers.
