Many children love Captain America, the superhero who appears in many comic books produced by Marvel Comics. When your child asks to have a Captain America birthday party, be sure to have several red, white and blue party ideas ready to go. From the superhero food to the bodybuilding contests, your child will remember this superhero party for years to come.
Invitations
-
Make your invitations out of card stock and cut them in the shapes of masks. Write your party details on the inside of the mask and include the words "Come celebrate ____'s birthday, Captain America style. Draw stars, stripes and patriotic flags on the invitation masks. Poke holes in the sides of the mask and attach a small elastic string. Guests can wear their masks to the party.
Decorations
-
Hang several Captain America posters and decorate with red, white and blue party supplies. Use balloons and streamers to decorate the party area. Put a large Captain America toy on the table to use for a centerpiece, and then give it to the birthday child as a gift when the party is over.
Arrival Activities
-
As each guest arrives, give him or her a drink of "Super Solider Serum," which will give the child strength and power. Peel the labels off sports drinks and make your own "Super Solider Serum" label.
Give each child a piece of card stock shaped like a shield. Let the child cover the shield with aluminum foil and decorate the superhero shield. Children can use stickers and markers to decorate their shield. Let the children take their shields home as a party favor.
Food
-
Serve hot dogs and hamburger with chips or French fries. Make gelatin jigglers, rice crispy treats and cookies in the shapes of stars. The night before the party, make red and blue ice cubes, using food coloring. At the party pour lemon-lime soda pop over the red and white ice cubes to make the kids a Captain America drink.
Games
-
Play several games at your child's Captain America party to keep the children involved. In the backyard, create an obstacle course, using chairs, tires and ropes. Time each child running through the obstacle course. Award a small prize to the child with the fastest time.
