Prayer beads and Bibles are both ideal Catholic gifts. prayer-book and rosary image by Maria Brzostowska from Fotolia.com
When you give a gift to someone who's Catholic you want it to nurture her spiritual health, so give her something that helps her have a deeper relationship with God. Some gifts can be used every day and others can be passed down in the family. Keep in mind the age of the person you are giving the gift to.
Books
-
If you want to give a new dad a book then give him one about how to be a good Catholic dad. Or if a child is growing up in the church, give her a book about growing up in the Church.
Bibles
-
Over the years Bibles become worn and get old so a new Bible is a good gift. Also, Bibles are written different ways (i.e. chronologically) so give a Bible that is written in a unique way. This mixes up the way the Bible is read and gives the person some variety. Or you can give the person a classic, leather-bound Bible.
Rosary Beads
-
Rosary beads are used for guiding prayer and come in all different colors and materials. They are sometimes worn as everyday jewelry. Wooden beads are a great, classy gift. Or you can give rosary beads that are made from luxurious materials like pearls and gems. This not only encourages the person's spiritual life, but the beads can also be passed down to future generations.
Prayer Cards
-
Give a person prayer cards. Catholics often use prayer cards to help guide prayer life, so giving these helps encourage their prayers. These come in all different shapes, designs, and sizes so decide what is best for the person. For example, if it is a busy mother then give her small prayer cards that can easily fit in her purse.
