Cleaning a Carburetor on a Kawasaki KE100

Maintaining a clean carburetor is very important for a Kawasaki KE100. A dirty carburetor will lead to your KE100 being a lot louder than it needs to be. If there is a massive buildup of dirt then you might find that your KE100 won't start. Cleaning the carburetor is a fairly easy process, which shouldn't take you too long to complete.

Unscrew the two screws on either side of the seat with a screwdriver and remove it from the KE100. This will give you full access to the KE100 carburetor from above and from the side.

    • 2

Scrub all over the KE100 carburetor with the toothbrush to remove dirt and grime. A toothbrush works well because it can fit in a lot of the small cracks of the carburetor.

    • 3

Unscrew the four screws holding the KE100 carburetor bowl on and place the bowl and the four screws to one side. This will give you access to the the inside of the carburetor.

    • 4

Scrub the inside of the carburetor with the toothbrush.

    • 5

Pour a small amount of carburetor cleaner and scrub the KE100 carburetor bowl. This means scrubbing both the outside and inside of the KE100 carburetor. It is common for carburetor bowls to build up a lot of dirt, so it might take a bit of physical force to remove all of the dirt.

    • 6

Pour some carburetor cleaner on a clean rag and polish out any bits of dirt not removed from the outside of the carburetor.

    • 7

Re-attach the KE100 carburetor bowl and seat. You should now have a clean and fully working KE100 carburetor.
