Common Dicot Flowers

      Dianthus, poppy, evening primrose, hollyhock, mallow, phlox and borage have dicot flowers. The blossoms of the purslane family include common purslane, redmaid and miner's lettuce. The heath family members such as mandrove, rhododendron, azalea, blueberry, mint and many herbs are dicots. Vetch, clover and lupine are members of the pea family.

    Annual Flowers

    • The delicate buttercup plant with the four petal blossom is a dicot plant. Candy tuft, petunia, sweet pea, sweet alyssum, cosmos and the geranium family also sport blossoms with petals in multiples of four or five.

    Carrot Family

    • The carrot or parsley family group covers coriander, dill, fennel and parsley. Poison hemlock is also a member of the carrot family. Carrots, parsnip and footsteps-of-spring all have dense clusters of five petalled flowers.
