Scrapbooking has evolved with technology, allowing avid hobbyists to use machines to enhance their scrapbooking skills and create beautiful crafts that showcase both their creativity and technological use. The Cricut brand has developed several products to help scrapbookers in their projects and the Cricut Expression is a large machine that can be used to cut letters, shapes, and phrases in different sizes. Since it uses larger mats, you can explore your creativity by making banners and large signs as well as scrapbook layouts with the machine.
Cake Design
-
The versatility of the Cricut Expression can be explored by using it to create fancy cupcake holders or cake mats. You can load images onto the Cricut machine and cut them out to the appropriate shapes according to the size of the cupcake. You can also create elaborate cut-out designs on the top half of thick cardstock and fold it around to create customized cupcake liners. The ends of thick paper can also be decoratively cut on the Cricut Expression and you can use that as a base for cakes to give them a fancy base. The large size of the machine allows you to insert the entire mat at once so you get uniform design.
Wall Decals
-
The Cricut Expression uses a 12-inch-by-12-inch or 12-inch-by-24-inch mat so you can create large lettering that can be used as colorful wall decals. Using adhesive-backing cardstock or vinyl material, you can cut and print letters, words, phrases, or pictures that can then be stuck on walls and used to personalize a room.
Invitation Cards
-
The Cricut Expression can be loaded with special software to use a wide variety of fonts that you can use to create unique invitation cards. You can also use the pre-loaded software, fonts, and designs to precision cut letters and shapes. Since the machine is versatile when it comes to material, experiment with paper, vinyl, and even fabric to create embossed invitations or special accents to add to plain cards.
