Directions to Kennedy Airport

John F. Kennedy International Airport is located on Long Island in the southern portion of the New York City borough of Queens. Interstate 678 goes directly to the airport. No matter which direction you come from, you need to get on it.
  • From South

    • Take I-95 north to the New Jersey Turnpike. Merge onto I-178 toward the Varrazano-Narrows Bridge. Merge onto Belt Park East via a left exit. Merge onto Nassau Expressway at exit 19. Exit I-678 south and continue to the airport.

    From West

    • Take I-78 east. At exit 29 merge onto I-287 south. Take the I-95 exit, New Jersey Turnpike. Take a quick exit to New York and north. Merge onto I-95 north. At exit 13 take I-278 toward the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. At this point, follow the same directions as above, starting with the merge onto Belt Park East.

    From North

    • Get on the I-87 New York Throughway south. Merge onto I-287 at exit 15. At exit 66 merge on the left toward Mahwah. Merge onto Route-4 toward Fort Lee / New York. Take I-95 north ramp toward bridge. Merge onto the I-95, New Jersey Turnpike, south. Exit at 678 toward the airport.

    From Northeast

    • Take I-91 south toward I-95. Exit on the left onto I-95. Take the Hutchinson River Parkway south toward Whitestone Bridge at exit 14. The Hutchinson River Parkway becomes I-678 and goes directly to the airport.

    From East

    • Take I-495 west. Exit at 678 south, which goes directly to the airport.
